From meetup groups to recovery funds: How artists are helping each other during the pandemic

Even before the pandemic, the U.S. lagged significantly behind other industrialized countries in per capita arts spending. Even before the coronavirus outbreak, the United States lagged significantly behind other industrialized countries in per capita arts spending; COVID-19 only laid further bare how flimsy our support system for artists is.

8 free agents Giants could still target after NFL Draft, including Trai Turner

8 free agents Giants could still target after NFL Draft, including Trai Turner Posted May 09, 2021 Former Carolina Panthers offensive guard Trai Turner is still available in free agency. (Rick Scuteri, Associated Press) Facebook Share The Giants just added six players to their roster through the NFL Draft, and all told that’ll cost them around $3 million in cap space. So that should leave the team with about $2 million in space to spare. That’s not a whole lot, especially since it’s important to go into the season with some room in the event of injuries to key players. They can still create more space through restructures, cuts or trades, which they’d likely need to do if they wind up adding anymore free agents between now and the start of training camp.
