A generous donation of fleece blankets, fuel and care packs has been made to Arklow Meals on Wheels to support older members of the community.
Local businesses have shown their support for the voluntary group, which is providing meals two days a week to 60 older people in the Arklow area.
The Bridgewater Shopping Centre recently made a donation of fuel to the group. The shopping centre provided 16 bags of coals and 32 bags of blocks. The centre s food appeal for Arklow Meals on Wheels is also continuing, with donation boxes located near Dunnes Stores.
Meanwhile, James Dunne Textile Manager at Dunnes Stores, recently donated 20 fleece blankets to Arklow Meals on Wheels on behalf of the Arklow store, following the group s online appeal for blankets and fleeces. Local pharmacies including Adrian Dunne and Careplus also generously provided care packs to the group for distribution to the older people supported by the Meals on Wheels service.
