VANCOUVER Search and rescue crews are lauding a 17 year-old for his quick-thinking and common sense, after the teen was lost in snowy mountain terrain over the weekend. The teen, who wishes to be identified only by his first name, Robert, said he was snowmobiling Saturday afternoon with his father and brother on Mica Mountain, which is east of 100 Mile House. At some point, his brother got stuck and his father went to help, but Robert was ahead of the pair and didn’t realize they had stopped. He found himself in steep, unfamiliar terrain. “I tried to get back the way I came, but I destroyed the trail in the process,” he said.

Image: Met Police A Lewisham man who admitted to fatally stabbing his mother will be detained in hospital indefinitely after the conclusion of his trial at the Old Bailey yesterday (Friday, January 8). 31-year-old James Sealy from Lewisham Way in South-East London pleaded guilty to manslaughter with diminished responsibility at the Old Bailey Friday, and was sentenced to an indefinite hospital order under Sections 37 and 41 of the Mental Health Act. Police working on the case described it as extremely sad as further details from the fatal stabbing emerged.
OUI Arrest after Two-Car Crash in Bridgewater, Maine
State Police arrested a man for operating under the influence following a two-car crash in Bridgewater on Saturday.
Police said that 42-year-old James Seeley of Bangor was speeding when he rear-ended another car on Route 1.
Neither of the drivers was injured, but there was extensive damage to both vehicles.
Seeley was being held at the Aroostook County Jail on OUI charges. State Police said other criminal charges will likely follow.
