FAIRMONT â Donna Heston Hage is officially Marion Countyâs new school superintendent.
At the Marion County Board of Education central office, Hage, a former assistant superintendent in Harrison County, was officially sworn in by Judge Patrick Wilson Thursday night.
Hage, 48, was chosen for the position by the board on June 7 in a rare, 3-2 split vote. She was recommended from a pool of five candidates after Randy Farley, the previous superintendent, announced his retirement.

FAIRMONTÂ â Randy Farley will certainly be missed at the Marion County Board of Education.
Employees, school board members and community leaders all gathered together Monday afternoon at the board s central office to congratulate Farley on his retirement.
In March, Farley announced his retirement after serving Marion County Schools for 46 years. His contract ends July 1.
At the celebration, Farley was given official proclamations of congratulation from several major Marion County organizations, such as Fairmont State University, the Marion County Chamber of Commerce, the Marion County Commission and the office of U.S. Rep. David McKinley, R-1.
Burnham theatre opens art exhibition exploring affects of pandemic
A month-long exhibition of unique artwork exploring how the Covid pandemic has affected local people has opened at Burnham-On-Sea’s Princess Theatre.
The thought-provoking exhibition features the work of 12 local artists who were commissioned by the theatre to create pieces that sum up how the pandemic, lockdown and a lack of human contact, has affected us all over the past year.
The free exhibition, called ‘Contact’, was opened by Burnham and Highbridge Mayor Cllr Mike Facey and is now open to the public on weekdays and Saturdays from 9am-5pm until July 25th.
