ST. CLAIR SHORES, MI Derek Hill is known in his St. Clair Shores community as a good Samaritan. He s the founder of the Last Supper Mobile Ministry that, for the last six years, has offered frequent food donations to the less fortunate.
It s no surprise to the community that while the 51-year-old was out one night earlier this week, he pulled to the side of Gratiot Avenue near 13 Mile Road in neighboring Roseville to help a stranded woman whose car appeared to be overheating and breaking down.
A St. Clair Shores minister with groceries for those in need stopped to help what he thought was another driver in trouble. Instead, it was a trap, and the 51-year-old victim was beaten and carjacked.

WEDNESDAY NEWS HIT - After seven years in prison and almost a years-worth of rumors about a potential early release, Detroit s ex-mayor Kwame Kilpatrick has been commuted by President Donald Trump.
The former Detroit leader still had 16 years left of his prison sentence he was serving for corruption and racketeering charges related to a text message scandal that was uncovered while he was still in office.
Kilpatrick s commutation couldn t have come any later, with his release being announced the very last day the president was in office when Trump announced pardons and commutations for more than 140 people.
