It is the product of nearly 20 years of meticulous trigonometrical survey work and covers all of Tasmania with a heretofore unprecedented degree of precision. The map features manuscript annotation of several voyages dating to the 1920s, underscoring its enduring significance as the best reconnaissance of Tasmania more than 70 years after its issue.
