JMEC Announces Data Security Incident JMEC News: Jemez Mountains Electric Cooperative (JMEC) issued the following statement today related to a Data Security Incident: “Jemez Mountains Electric Cooperative (JMEC) recently learned of a data security incident that may impact some of our members. We take this incident very seriously and are working alongside law enforcement, expert service providers, and our regulatory leadership to resolve it. “The JMEC data security incident may have involved some of the organization’s financial documents inadvertently being placed for trash pickup rather than for their secure disposal. JMEC was notified Wednesday afternoon, June 09, 2021, that some of these documents were scattered from a waste hauling truck that services the cooperative. These were gathered by hand and returned to JMEC.
