COLCHESTER United fans have been remembering a very special date in their club’s proud history. Today marks the 15th anniversary of the U’s magnificent promotion to the Championship, as Phil Parkinson’s side gleaned the point they needed from a 0-0 draw at Yeovil Town. It earned them a place in English football’s second tier for the first time in their history, after clinching runners-up spot in League One. Memories of that magical day - May 6, 2006 - are still very much alive for many supporters, especially those who were there celebrating on the terraces after making the long trip to Somerset.

The Portland Trail Blazers notched a much-needed victory over the Brooklyn Nets, and one key factor in the win was Jusuf Nurkic’s contributions on defense. According to Jamie Hudson of NBC Sports Northwest, Coach Terry Stotts acknowledged the difference Nurkic makes for the Trail Blazers.
“We’ve said all along how important he is defensively for us… He impacts the game. He had a good offensive night and that’s great but, we are a much better defensive team when he’s healthy and when he’s playing for us.”
For Nurkic, the priority is hanging in there with his teammates as the season gets tough.
