Organizers hope to build on success of First Friday Courtesy of Carol Garsten The Spartan Dance Club from Mountain View High School is set to perform a jazz dance and then teach a hip-hop dance lesson to First Friday visitors 6-6:45 p.m. Friday at Veterans Community Plaza in downtown Los Altos. The next downtown Los Altos First Friday event, 6-8 p.m. Friday, features a “Dancing in the Streets” exhibition and dance lesson by local youth dance groups at Veterans Community Plaza, followed by music all around downtown. After a 13-month hiatus, First Friday made a successful return to downtown Los Altos April 2, according to organizers. The monthly events, which aim to draw visitors to downtown restaurants and shops, offer live entertainment, special promotions and themed games and activities.

Next First Friday scheduled May 7 The May First Friday event, scheduled 6-8 p.m. May 7 in downtown Los Altos, will feature the theme “Dancing in the Streets.” Highlights will include a dance performance by the Mountain View High School Spartan Dance Club at Veterans Community Plaza, followed by live music all around downtown by a variety of bands. Organizers held their first in-person event in more than a year April 2, which attracted a large crowd.
