Temperatures plunged overnight - proving spring may not have fully sprung on the Isle of Wight after all. Island Roads sent its gritting fleet out at 8pm on Sunday, as the mercury fell, despite a weekend of sunshine.

Island Harbour was the chilliest - dropping to minus 5.1 Celsius. Carisbrooke took the next coldest - falling to minus 4.3 Celsius. Godshill, Wootton and parts of Newport came in third - with just minus 4.2 Celsius.
