THE Isle of Wight Met Service has issued a yellow weather warning for freezing fog and ice today (Saturday), with temperatures expected to drop as low as -6C overnight. Island Roads gritters will be treating precautionary routes from 9pm tonight, as well as bridge decks at Stag Lane and Foxes Road. According to local forecasters, through the evening, we will see areas of fog developing quickly. These will become freezing and widespread, leading to very poor visibility locally, along with significant icy deposits where the fog is at its thickest. Icy stretches are also likely on untreated roads and surfaces.
