NJ husband shot wife dead then killed himself, prosecutors say
AUDUBON A borough man shot his wife to death before turning the gun on himself in what’s been ruled a murder-suicide, according to the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office.
Police responded to a home on Oakland Avenue on Monday around 1 p.m. for a wellness check on 64-year-old Jane Venable and 63-year-old Kevin Venable, after the person who called it in had not heard from the couple since Saturday.
Inside, officers found the bodies of the married couple.
A medical examiner determined the manner of death for both after autopsies on Tuesday.

Police were called the couple’s home on Oakland Avenue around 1 p.m. on Monday after someone who performed a welfare check at the home after not hearing from the pair since Saturday found them dead, according to a statement from the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office and the Audubon Police.
Detectives found a woman, Jane Venable, 64, dead inside from multiple gunshot wounds and a man, Kevin Venable, 63, dead from a gunshot wound, the office said.
An autopsy performed Tuesday confirmed that Kevin shot his wife multiple times before turning the gun on himself, investigators said.

CAMDEN COUNTY, N.J. - The deaths of an Audubon couple have been ruled a murder-suicide, Camden County prosecutors announced.
Police responded to the home on the unit block of Oakland Ave. around 1 p.m. Monday for a report of two people found deceased. A witness told officers they went to the home to conduct a welfare check after not hearing from the couple since Saturday.
According to authorities, a medical examiner determined Jane Venable, 64, of Audubon, died from multiple gunshot wounds and her manner of death was ruled a homicide. The medical examiner determined the death of Kevin Venable, 63, of Audubon, to be from a self-inflicted gunshot wound and ruled the manner of death as suicide, investigators said.

According to the Camden County Prosecutor s Office, the couple was found dead inside a home on the 100 block of Oakland Avenue around 1 p.m.
A witness reportedly conducted a welfare check after not hearing from the couple since Saturday.
The victims have been identified as Jane Venable, 64, and Kevin Venable, 63, both of Audubon. Detectives located a woman dead from visible injuries and a man dead from a gunshot wound, said the prosecutor s office in a news release.
Authorities are still working to determine the exact cause of death.
