PHOTOS: Police declare riot near Tigard Police Department KATU Staff
Police declared a gathering near the Tigard Police Department a riot Thursday night, they said on Twitter.
Reportedly, people showed up at around 8:30 p.m.
A KATU photographer on the scene said as police moved in, the crowd left the area.
Police arrested 20-year-old Zane Saleem Bsoul. He faces a riot charge. I would have walked with them and march with them, said business owner Kazem Avunnadi, a business owner. You know, everybody s voice needs to be heard, but you just don t destroy people s property. You just don t.
The incident that sparked the protest started as a domestic violence abuse call at an apartment complex near Southwest Hall and Bonita on Wednesday.
