1/1 A BRAND new Pride event has been unveiled for the Yorkshire Wolds just as the UK gears up to mark LGBT+ History Month. It is hoped that Wolds Pride will take place in Pocklington in August this year, in what will be the first event of its kind for the region featuring a dynamic programme of live music, dance, educational opportunities, workshops, and talks based in and around Pocklington Arts Centre (PAC). Wolds Pride, a non-profit organisation, was founded by Adam Tipping, who originates from Pocklington and now lives in London, with the aim of representing, supporting, educating, engaging, and celebrating the LGBTQIA+ community across the Yorkshire Wolds.
Magic Circus was performed by Hull-based Magic Carpet Theatre and filmed behind closed doors at PAC this autumn. CHILDREN can experience all the fun and excitement of live theatre this Christmas thanks to a theatre show from Pocklington Arts Centre (PAC) that will soon be available to stream online. Families who access regional food banks will be the very first to exclusively see Magic Circus days before the show goes on general release to the public on Saturday at 2.30pm and will be available for up to seven days. Thanks to a grant of £4,100 from the East Yorkshire based I am Fund, via the HEY Smile Foundation, two shows – The Magic Circus and The Wizard of Castle Magic - were performed live by renowned Hull-based theatre company Magic Carpet Theatre behind closed doors at PAC this autumn and filmed by local production company Digifish.
