The Pride flag in Pocklingtion.
The first of the brand new monthly networking and social events will take place on Sunday (May 23), 11am to 1pm online, with organisers eventually planning to host the social events in person on the fourth Sunday of every month.
Wolds Pride founder and chair Adam Tipping said: “Our online events have so far proved to be really popular and have really engaged with members of the LGBTQIA+, so we are really excited to be rolling out a brand new event with the aim of nurturing and expanding connections with the local community.
“The Acronym Sunday Brunch is the perfect opportunity to have a chat over a cuppa and make new friends from within the Wolds LGBTQIA+ community.
1/1 A BRAND new Pride event has been unveiled for the Yorkshire Wolds just as the UK gears up to mark LGBT+ History Month. It is hoped that Wolds Pride will take place in Pocklington in August this year, in what will be the first event of its kind for the region featuring a dynamic programme of live music, dance, educational opportunities, workshops, and talks based in and around Pocklington Arts Centre (PAC). Wolds Pride, a non-profit organisation, was founded by Adam Tipping, who originates from Pocklington and now lives in London, with the aim of representing, supporting, educating, engaging, and celebrating the LGBTQIA+ community across the Yorkshire Wolds.
