Apex Legends Season 9 – everything we know

Find out what Apex Legends Season 9 has in store for players Wondering what’s coming to Apex Legends Season 9? The ninth season of the battle royale game is right around the corner, and the devs are releasing regular content ahead of the forthcoming update. War Games will be taking over Apex Legends from April 13, giving players a chance to try out some experimental game modes for the next two weeks. Apex Legends has always been set in the Titanfall universe, but it looks like Respawn Entertainment plans to make the connection stronger in Season 9. What this means for Apex Legends remains to be seen – could titans somehow make their way to the battlefield? There’s been plenty of rumours suggesting main characters from Titanfall could join the Apex Legends roster, though nothing concrete has happened so far.

Apex Legends loses its normal mode for two weeks in favour of some wild variants

Apex Legends loses its normal mode for two weeks in favour of some wild variants If you want to play standard, no-frills Apex Legends in the latter half of April, I hope you’re up for ranked. Respawn is getting experimental through the end of Mayhem, and we’re getting two full weeks of unusual game modes in place of the normal playlist. Each mode will only last for a few days at a time, but these War Games modes will be your only option outside of ranked for the duration. When War Games starts on April 13, the first takeover will be Second Chance, which grants everyone one free respawn in each match. On April 15, we get Ultra Zones, which brings multiple hot zones per match that’ll spawn healing bubbles inside. On April 19, we get Auto Banners, which will let players respawn their teammates without collecting a banner card.

Respawn drops more hints about the non-battle royale way to play Apex Legends planned for 2021

Image via Respawn Entertainment In the first entry of the new update series, Respawn Responds, design director Jason McCord touched upon Respawn’s recently hinted-at plans to add “new ways” to play Apex Legends. “We have built these characters, and this world that I think players really want to be in, even if they don’t love battle royales,” McCord states in the update video. “That’s something that we want to focus on solving this year: other ways to play the game.” With so little information, it’s almost impossible to predict what form this new Apex Legends gameplay will arrive in. However, we can rule out a couple of things right away. This new way to play is not related to the upcoming mobile version of Apex Legends, which will be a battle royale by all indications.
