TAMPA â A jury this week found a former Benito Middle School teacher not guilty of sex crime charges â two years after he was arrested and fired after being accused of engaging in sexual activity with students.
Inconsistent statements from the two students who made the allegations and evidence that showed Alex Jeffrey Hull was not alone with one of them on key dates and times led to the acquittal, according to his defense team.

Despite storms and power outages throughout the region this week, state officials said Friday that Oregon is on track with its vaccination timeline.
Patrick Allen, director of the Oregon Health Authority, said the snow and ice canceled clinics and delayed vaccine shipments. However, officials don t expect any long-term impacts on the vaccine rollout.
People age 70 and older still can plan for vaccinations starting Feb. 22, as can people 65 and older beginning March 1. People age 75 and older, as well as those in the health care industry and teachers, already qualify.

Gov. Kate Brown visited Salem Health’s COVID-19 vaccination clinic at the Oregon State Fairgrounds Wednesday.
Brown watched as National Guard member Juan Carlos Rojas, of Salem, administered the Pfizer vaccine to Jason Mayberry, who lives in Portland and works in Salem.
In a short statement, Brown said she hopes similar clinics can be replicated in Oregon’s other large cities.
“Salem Health stood this up in very short order. They’re vaccinating anywhere from hundreds to 3,000 people a day. It’s truly an extraordinary effort,” Brown said.
