The pro football career of Paxton Lynch has not gone the way he thought it would.
In 2016, the Denver Broncos drafted Lynch in the first-round of the NFL draft with hopes he could do what John Elway and Peyton Manning had done in the past which is guide them to a Super Bowl championship. Lynch did not fare well in Denver or the NFL as he only started four games with the Broncos before having tryouts with Seattle and Pittsburgh that never resulted in anything.
The 27-year-old is trying to revive his career in Canada having signed a contract with the Saskatchewan Roughriders just before training camp started.

After waiting to see what options awaited him, Paxton Lynch is ready to try and get back on the horse in the CFL.
The Denver Broncos’ first-round pick in 2016 made his Saskatchewan Roughriders training camp debut Monday.
“This season I didn’t have an opportunity to go to camp with a team in the NFL so I thought it would be better to come out here and have the opportunity to get out on the field and get on a team and play and practise with these guys rather than not be on a team,” Lynch said.
REGINA A former NFL quarterback made his first appearance at Riders’ training camp on Monday. Paxton Lynch, who started in four games for the Denver Broncos, had a late start to camp due to quaratine rules, but that didn’t turn off offensive coordinator Jason Maas. “He’s a fast learner, he’s put the effort into our offense,” Maas said. “Having him come up here with the skills that he has and the work ethic that he showed us as a coaching staff, I think those are steps in the right direction.” Lynch was selected in the NFL’s 2016 draft in the first round, 26th overall. However, the Texas native was beat out of a starting role with the Broncos in 2016 by Trevor Siemian. The Broncos released Lynch in 2018 after he played in just five NFL games.
Maas promises lots of Fajardo in ’21 By Derek Taylor

Riders offensive coordinator Jason Maas promises and expects a lot of work from Cody Fajardo in the next three weeks. And then the 19 weeks of the CFL season.
Fajardo is one of four quarterbacks (soon to be five with Monday’s arrival of Paxton Lynch) in camp. But Fajardo will be significantly busier than the rest.
“The difference for him will be the first six days of camp he’ll get about 350 reps to everybody else’s 120,” says Maas. “And we have to split the reps between the other quarterbacks. So if you think about that number, that should blow your mind.”
