Valerie Joan Mary Burgess fell at her home in Westman Road and was taken to the Royal Hampshire County Hospital, in Winchester. She died on July 1, this year. An inquest was opened into the death of the 84-year-old at Winchester Coroner’s Court by area coroner Jason Pegg. A preliminary cause of death has been given as pneumonia, fall at home with long lie leading to rhabdomyolysis, urosepsis from proteus mirabilis, aortic stenosis and Type 2 diabetes.
