Blackwood NJ woman says wheelchair ramps were stolen from yard

GLOUCESTER TWP.  Kathleen Goetz was crafting face masks for frontline workers at her kitchen table when her Ring camera alerted to motion in the yard. A man was caught on the footage picking up a set of yellow hard-plastic ramps from her Blackwood home s yard and apparently loading them into a van. Goetz, a Prospect Avenue resident, said she uses the ramps to get her mobility scooter in and out of her car. She leaves the ramps in her yard whenever they are not in use. On April 22, one set of the ramps were near her car when the man, described as skinny, with black hair, and wearing a green uniform, walked away with them.

BLACKWOOD, New Jersey (WPVI) Dozens of guests were forced to evacuate a Blackwood hotel after a fire early Wednesday morning. JaYolonda Pritchett and Jesenia Rodriguez of Deptford pounded on doors of the Howard Johnson Express Inn on the 800 block of North Black Horse Pike after seeing the smoke and flames. It was huge and very scary. Everyone was running out. I m waking up everybody; you see everybody running out, Pritchett said. Pritchett called 911 when the fire broke out around 3:30 a.m. The women ran from their third floor room, desperately trying to alert other guests. It worked. Firefighters battled a 4-alarm fire at the Howard Johson Express Inn on the Black Horse Pike.

COVID assessments underway at polyclinic

Social Share Scores of people are at the Eunice Gibson Polyclinic in Warrens, St Michael, waiting to undergo assessments by public health officials, to determine if they are to be tested for COVID-19. On Friday, the Ministry of Health and Wellness made a public appeal for people who attended a bus crawl on Boxing Day, which was organised by Jason Gittens, to go to the polyclinic for assessment. People in close contact with anyone who attended the bus crawl were asked to go to the polyclinic on Saturday between  9 a.m. and 4 p.m. Those who do not have transportation were advised to call the COVID hotline at 5364500 and avoid taking public transportation.
