A 23-year-old motorcyclist was killed Friday in a collision on an eastern San Diego County street.
The man was riding to the north in the 200 block of North Johnson Avenue in El Cajon about 8 a.m. when the driver of the work truck made a turn directly in his path, according to police.

The resulting collision left the motorcyclist mortally injured. The man, whose name was withheld pending family notification, died at the scene, Lt. Jason Taub said.

A driver was ejected and killed in a car crash in El Cajon Saturday morning, police said.
The collision happened about 7:30 a.m. at the intersection of Main Street and Avocado Boulevard, said El Cajon police Lt. Jason Taub.
The victim was driving a gray Volkswagen Beetle west on Main and appears to have run a red light, Taub said, based on witness accounts and a preliminary investigation of the scene. A burgundy Nissan was going north on Avocado on a green light and crashed into the Volkswagen in the intersection.
The Volkswagen driver was ejected onto the street, while the Nissan crashed into a power box attached to a restaurant, police said.

A pedestrian was struck and killed by a car while crossing a residential street in El Cajon late Friday night, police said.
Officers discovered the deceased man after responding to another crash on Anza Street near Gray Drive shortly before 10 p.m., said El Cajon police Lt. Jason Taub.
Authorities said it appeared the gray Infiniti sedan was speeding northbound when it struck a man who was crossing to enter his parked car. The pedestrian was thrown about 180 feet into a yard. The man, believed to be in his mid-20s, died at the scene. His name was not released.

EL CAJON (CNS) - A pedestrian was struck and killed by a speeding car in a residential neighborhood in El Cajon, authorities said Saturday morning.
The victim was crossing the 1000 block of South Anza Street to his parked car about 9:55 p.m. Friday when a gray 2020 Infiniti sedan speeding northbound struck the man, throwing him approximately 180 feet from the crash scene and into a nearby yard, according to Lt. Jason Taub of the El Cajon Police Department.
The Infiniti continued northbound until it crashed into a parked vehicle in the 800 block of South Anza Street, Taub said.
