Illinois State Police released footage of the May 24 incident which took place just after 8pm in Moline, a town that lies along the Illinois-Iowa border about 180 miles west of Chicago.

A Sergeant with the Illinois State Police District 7, the district Knox County resides in, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was treated and released from a local hospital after his fully marked squad car was struck by an alleged drunk driver.
According to a release from the State Police, the squad car had its emergency lights on as it was stationary and on the eastbound shoulder of John Deere Road in Moline when a green Jeep, traveling east, crossed the white fog line and struck the rear driver’s side of the squad car, causing the jeep to overturn and roll several times.

Authorities were investigating a two-car crash on John Deere Road at John Deere Place in Rock Island County.
Police say the ISP Sergeant just completed a traffic stop and was parked on the shoulder of the road with the emergency lights on.

MOLINE, Ill. A Moline man and an Illinois State trooper were injured when a Jeep crashed into a patrol vehicle on the shoulder of John Deere Road, according to a statement from the Illinois State Police.
The patrol vehicle, which had emergency lights flashing, was stationary on the eastbound side of the road, said police. The sergeant sitting inside had just finished a traffic stop on John Deere Road near John Deere Place.
