Their preferences showed a leaning to neither the Democratic or Republican parties, but support for aspects of voter reform favored by each. “From automatic registration to making the option to vote by mail a permanent fixture of American elections, clear majorities of Americans favor making voting easier in the United States,” said poll director Tatishe Nteta, a UMass associate professor of political science.
