Hixson s Robby Mason Wins At Boyds Speedway Saturday, May 15, 2021
Chattanooga s Boyd s Speedway saw action with Robby Mason of Hixson winning the Late Model feature over Tod Hernandez and Josh Walker. In the 604/Crate Main Event Knoxville s Eli Beets (#109) was victorious over Jesse Lowe and Booger Brooks.
The track celebrates the late Joe Lee Johnson next Friday night with a memorial race sanctioned by the Topless Outlaw Late Model series paying $2,500 to win. Johnson was the winner of NASCAR s first ever race at Charlotte Motor Speedway in 1960. He was the longtime owner of the now defunct Cleveland Speedway. After Boyd s next Friday the Topless series heads to Rhea County s new Mountain View Raceway in Dayton/Spring City just north of Chattanooga.
Friday evening s Flip for Wishes Charity Poker Tournament saw people gather at SKY Trampoline Park to have a good time playing cards with friends and raise money in the process.
The tournament was a part of a weekend s worth of events, giving SKY multiple opportunities to fundraise for the Make-A-WIsh Foundation along with its partner LEAP Trampoline Park as part of LEAP Family Entertainment.
Josh Gardner, a SKY employee, suggested a poker tournament as a unique way to raise money and draw in the community.
The initial buy-in was $10, and players could pay $5 to re-buy.
SKY awarded the tournament winner a choice of a $500 flight voucher to Las Vegas or a 55 television, the second-place finished received a $75 Visa gift card, and third place earned a $25 gift card to LEAP Family Entertainment.

The 3rd Annual Eddie Davis Memorial Bama Brawl weekend took place Friday-Sunday as over 150 race teams converged upon the 3/8 s mile dirt track in Northeast Alabama for over $100,000 in posted prize money.
Super Late Models highlighted the weekend with a 50 lapper, paying $4,500 to-Win Sunday. Attrition was key and in the end Hot Rod Carroll of Anniston picked up the biggest win of his career after nearly the entire field dropped out. Carroll s teammate DJ Hayes finished second.
The United Championship Racing Alliance presented by Red Line Synthetic Oil kicked off its 2021 season much like it did in 2020. Local racer Sam Seawright beat out the competition for the $3,000 prize Sunday afternoon, for his second consecutive Bama Brawl title. The United Championship Racing Alliance 604/Crate Late Model series $1,000 Rookie of the Year title chase was a chase within the Red Line Oil championship, as many as five racers held aspirations for the 2020 award, set to be distributed next Saturday, Jan. 16, in Chattanooga. Jason Cardwell of Knoxville bested the bunch and nearly collected himself a National Points Championship all the while, chasing Cleveland racer Jimmy Elliott. This is a good group of guys, said Cardwell regarding his fellow series competitors. We re all out to help one another race, but in the same stance, beat them to the finish line.

The United Championship Racing Alliance presented by Red Line Synthetic Oil will kick off the 2021 season at Fort Payne Motor Speedway in Northeast Alabama Feb. 19-21 (Friday- Sunday) with the 3rd Annual Eddie Davis Memorial BAMA BRAWL. The UCRA 604/Crate Late Models will share top billing with Super Late Models ($4,500 to-Win), a 40 lap UCRA race paying $3,000 to-Win. Also a special Red Line Race of Champions is slated for Saturday s (Feb. 20) opener at FPMS paying $1,000, to invitees from 2020 and past champions of the UCRA.
