Ten years after a criminal charge of rape was levelled against him for alleged sexual involvement with a thirteen-year-old child, High Court Judge Paula Gilford is adamant that the matter should go before the jury.
After entertaining legal arguments in support of and against a motion brought by defence lawyer George Prime, challenging the constitutional correctness of the proceeding against his client Curtis “Thunderbolt” Baptiste ten years after, and against the motion by Crown Counsel Brandon Toussaint, High Court Judge Justice Paula Gilford on Tuesday ruled that the trial would go ahead.
