Eastern Oregon archery elk hunting changes being considered
SALEM, Ore. ODFW staff are planning to propose changes to the 2022 archery elk seasons to better manage elk populations and hunting pressure in popular units.
Under an initial draft proposal, archery elk hunting would remain a general season hunting opportunity in western Oregon and much of eastern Oregon. However, several northeast Oregon units (see map) would move from general season hunting to some form of controlled archery hunting to better manage elk populations and more equitably distribute necessary harvest reductions between rifle and archery hunters.
Tags would not be portable to general season hunts, so archery elk hunters would need to choose either Eastern Oregon General, Western Oregon General, or the controlled hunt tag they drew.

Car dealers should be braced for “a third, successive dismal new plate month” in March after COVID-19 ‘Lockdown 3’ delivered another 35.5% decline to the UK’s new car registrations in February.
That was the exasperated message from Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT) chief executive, Mike Hawes, as he once again called for showrooms to be allowed to reopen “as soon as possible” to allow the automotive sector to begin to recover the £23 billion loss from the past year.
New car registrations totalled 51,312 last month, down 28,282 on 2020 and the sector’s lowest February registrations total since 1959, the SMMT said.

Car retailers decision over whether to offer car buyers test drives during COVID-19 Lockdown 3 has been rendered âpurely moralâ after clarification of the law in England, it has been claimed.
Lawgistics legal advisor Nona Bowkis has obtained documentation stating that the UK Governmentâs Office for Product Safety and Standards (OPSS) which clarifies COVID-19 âLockdown 3â test drive legislation with Trading Standards authorities across England and determines that the service is allowed.
Bowkis told AM that the correspondence â provided in connection to a car retailerâs successfully contested case â served to back-up Lawgisticsâ ongoing assertion that test drives have been legal throughout âLockdown 3â.
