The 19-year-old man who was arrested and accused of striking a 77-year-old woman repeatedly with a hammer was indicted on new murder and aggravated murder charges this week after the woman died.
The indictment filed on Monday states Jeremy Janell Alvarez caused the death of Sun Cha Park Allen. When Alvarez was first charged, Allen was listed in court documents as being in critical condition.
Alvarez is accused of assaulting Allen on Dec. 8, according to the magistrate’s complaint.
The magistrate’s complaint stated multiple families live in four bedroom home in Sinajana, including Alvarez and Allen. Allen was found face down in her bedroom, a pool of blood near her head and a hammer near her, the complaint stated.
