Jersey City Restaurant Association gets into the holiday season by handing out more than 1,000 meal bags Updated Dec 23, 2020; Posted Dec 23, 2020 Facebook Share The Jersey City Restaurant Association got into the holiday spirit of giving by passing out more than 1,000 bags of prepared meals to those in need Monday. The group joined with the Historic Downtown Special Improvement District for their first “Christmas around JC” event, in which local restaurants donated some of their favorite signature dishes. JCRA President Carmen Mendiolla said at least 18 city restaurants, including Boa Café, Porta and Beechwood Café, participated in dinner distribution on First Street. She said the response was overwhelming they planned to be out there until 6 p.m., but they ran out of food by 4:30 p.m.
