(KNSI) – A local family medicine doctor is taking on a new leadership role.
Dr. Jay-Sheree Allen is now a member of the Board of Trustees for the American Academy of Family Physicians Foundation.
The AAFP is one of the largest medical organizations in the world with a membership of 136,700 family medicine doctors and students.
Dr. Allen, who practices at CentraCare – Long Prairie, has been involved with the fundraising arm of the AAFP since 2017 as an at-large member of the board.
In addition to her fundraising work with the AAFP Foundation board, Dr. Allen also hosts her own podcast, Millennial Health. In 2019, she was named by the National Minority Quality Forum as one of the 40 Under 40 Leaders in Health awardees for her work as a rural family medicine physician.
