Bhubaneswar sees six-fold rise in dengue cases

330 cases reported till Saturday, disease spread to 15 new areas Share Via Email   |  A+A A- By Express News Service BHUBANESWAR: Dengue in the State Capital has breached the 300 cases mark and taken 50 localities under its grip with the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) struggling to contain its spread.  According to the statistics of BMC, the number of dengue cases which was 51 on July 11 has increased to 330 by Saturday, a six-fold rise in the last 14 days. As many as 39 new dengue cases were reported from different parts of the city in the last 24 hours as the total infection count on Friday was 291. What raises more concern is that new cases have started surfacing from different parts of the city in the middle of Covid-19 pandemic.

5T Secretary VK Pandian reviews progress of various projects in Bhubaneswar Post News Network Bhubaneswar: 5T Secretary VK Pandian Sunday morning visited several construction sites in Bhubaneswar including Inter State Bus Terminal (ISBT) at Baramunda, new road to connect CRPF square to Institute of Mathematics, affordable housing project in Chandrasekharpur and Incubation tower near Infocity to review the progress of these projects. The ISBT at Baramunda is being built over a land spreading 15.5 acres at a cost of Rs 180 crore. The bus depot at Khandagiri is a part of this project with a parking capacity for 300 buses. The project is being constructed by Bhubaneswar Development Authority (BDA) and it is targeted to be finished by June 2022. After taking stock of the construction work, Pandian asked the officials to ensure the quality of work shouldn’t be compromised and the work should complete within the stipulated time frame.
