Ruth Irene Robl, 96, a lifetime Black River native, passed away peacefully with her daughter by her side on May 16, 2021 at the Samaritan Summit Nursing Home, where she had resided since July of 2015.
Ruth was born on October 4, 1924, in Watertown, NY, the daughter of Arthur Charles Carroll and Clara Helen (Gates) Carroll. Ruth graduated as Valedictorian of the class of 1942 from Black River High School.
After graduation she worked at JJ Newberry and Pine Camp Post Exchange (now Fort Drum) where she met a young soldier from Oshkosh, Wisconsin. On October 14, 1943 Ruth was united in marriage to Harold Wenzel Robl, son of Wenzel Robl and Violet (Poeschi) Robl at Chapel 2, Pine Camp, NY (now Fort Drum). Their brief marriage would welcome 4 children before the untimely death of Harold on June 13,1952. She never remarried.

Ellen L. Harbaugh passed away peacefully, as the sun was setting on May 9, 2021 at the age of 77.
Ellen was born in Belleville, IL on December 17, 1943 to Henry and Veranda Stork. She graduated with honors and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in education from Southern Illinois University, and attended graduate school at Kansas State University. She worked at Little Grassy Lake, near Carbondale, IL in the early 60’s, and helped to establish a day camp held at Camp Wartburg sponsored by the Monroe County Council for the Handicapped.
She married Daniel Harbaugh on June 25th, 1966. She taught elementary school for a year in Waterloo, IL and 4 years in Manhattan, KS before making their home in Marshalltown, Iowa in 1971, where she taught kindergarten and reading for the Marshalltown Area Catholic Schools. After teaching there for 23 years, she retired for health reasons. However, she found other ways to impact students. She continued to tutor following her retirement, a
WADSWORTH Helen M. Sybelnik Bux, 102, passed away quietly at her home, Saturday, May 1, 2021.
She was born in 1918 to John and Anna Sybelnik in Struthers. She graduated from Struthers High School and Youngstown Business College, then worked as a legal secretary for the Coal (Interior) Department in Washington, D.C.
At the opening of World War II, she volunteered for the Women’s Army Corps and was assigned to the Headquarters of the 92nd Combat Bomb Wing near Cambridge, England, where she served as a secretary at the U.S. air base until the end of the war, obtaining the rank of sergeant.

Sarah Jennie (Bellitto) Pollino, 92, of Jamestown, NY passed away on April 24, 2021, while a resident at Heritage Green Rehab & Skilled Nursing.
Sarah has been a life-long resident of Jamestown since her birth on Nov. 3, 1928, the daughter of Joseph and Sebastiana (Bessie) Bellitto.
Sarah is survived by her devoted son, Sam (Terri) of Corona, Calif.; and her cherished daughter, Julie (Joe) Indriolo, of Las Vegas, Nev. Sally’s pride and joy were her grandchildren by age: Amy (Robert) Adamiszyn, of Las Vegas, Nev., Katie (Anthony) Camblin of Fairport, N.Y., Lori Indriolo of Las Vegas, Nev., and Samantha Pollino and Nicolas Pollino, of Corona, Calif. Great- grandson, Zachary Adamiszyn of Las Vegas, Nev., and Kieran Camblin, of Fairport, N.Y.; and her dedicated and ever-present niece, Toni Ann Bellitto, of Jamestown, N.Y. Sally has always held a very close and loving relationship with all of her other nieces and nephews and their families.
