Slay the Night Lloydminster makes next step to become community support group SHARE ON: Slay the Night has been given non-profit status. [Slay the Night, Jenson Brown, Supplied.] A group of Lloydminster’s local drag performers has taken the next step to become a community support group. Slay the Night, which has gained a following in Lloydminster with their drag shows and performances, recently received word they received Alberta non-profit status. This will allow them to access non-profit arts grants and other sponsorships for their projects. They will also be able to provide financial or backing support to groups they sponsor both in Lloydminster and across Canada.

Slay the Night returns with Grease-themed Valentine s Drag Show

Lloydminster’s  Slay the Night is returning with a new show and taking on a larger challenge as they perform online for the audience once again. For Valentine’s Day Saturday, the drag performers will be doing a story based on the musical and film Grease. In the past, the performers would do their acts separate with the emcee introducing them. Now, the show will have a narrative arc, a first for the performers. Event Organizer Jenson Brown says that while their drag show is an art that feeds off a live audience, they’ve worked hard and built their confidence in the medium.
