A petition drive to remove four Cumberland representatives from the regional school board failed to gather enough signatures to get on the June 8 ballot, Town Clerk Tammy O’Donnell said Monday.

Infrastructure, Chalmers lots take council spotlight

The Rugby City Council heard updates on projects to improve water infrastructure projects and revisited an issue concerning lawn care at Rugby’s Chalmers Addition at its regular monthly meeting May 3 at city hall.
Engineer Jim Olson presented findings from a camera study of the city’s water and sewer system conducted by Jamestown firm Pipe Detectives.
Olson reported crews found a collapsed manhole near the Cenex office on Highway 3 near First Street Northwest. Workers repaired the manhole.

Flowers, flowers were everywhere - and selling out fast - early Friday morning at the Paint the town PINK flower sale to benefit Wabash Valley Breast Cancer Survivors, Inc. at Brazil Shell Station, 1506 East National Avenue.
The Tri-School Reunion Committee organized and worked at the fundraiser, including Gary and Gretchen Baysinger, Leesa Nesty, Mary Ray, Deb Smith, Janella Knierim, and Piper German.
The temperatures were cool and the flower sales were brisk, starting at 7:30 a.m. and went on until they were gone.
