A GoFundMe fundraiser has been created to help cover the funeral expenses of the volunteer middle school football coach who was killed last week in a vehicle crash in Northport. We want to give Ryan the memorial he deserves, to honor his memory and say our last goodbyes, the fundraiser campaign states.
As of around noon Monday, more than $4,000 of a $10,000 goal had been raised.
Perry was one of two people who died in a two-vehicle, head-on collision that occurred at around 3 a.m. May 21 in the 6100 block of Alabama Highway 69 in Northport.
The other victim, 42-year-old Jennifer Lorraine Worthington of Northport, was first positively identified by Northport police later in the day on May 21. Although Perry s identity was revealed by several sources on social media not long after the crash, Northport police announced confirmation on Monday of Perry being the second crash victim.
