Hills lead independent director David Chambers is stepping into the role of chairman for the company, replacing Jennifer Hill-Ling who is to retire as a company director later this year.
“It has been a great privilege and honour to serve as a director of Hills and, for the past 16 years, as its chairman. During this time, Hills has established a leading healthcare business providing nurse call and patient engagement solutions that is well positioned to expand further within the health technology sector,” Hill-Ling said in an ASX announcement.
“In the past 12 months, the board has been actively undertaking a process of renewal to reflect the company’s increasing focus on growing its health business as well as improving the results of its digital and security distribution business. Following the appointment of a new non-executive director later this year, the renewal process will be complete.”

Hills hopes to get its technology distribution business back on track under the leadership of its new CEO, David Clarke, former CEO of publicly listed health software provider Corum Group.
“I am delighted that we have appointed an executive of David’s calibre, with such a strong record in strategic, financial and operational leadership,” Hills chair Jennifer Hill-Ling said.
“David’s experience and business skills provide Hills with significant capability to deliver on the health division’s growth strategy and return the distribution division to sustained profitability.
Distributor Hills Ltd has announced that chief executive and managing director David Lenz will retire later this year.
Lenz will depart after five years as CEO, but will remain with Hills Ltd on an interim capacity until a replacement has been named.
“It has been a privilege to lead Hills over the past five years as we have worked to transform the company,” Lenz said in a statement to shareholders.
“Notwithstanding the issues and challenges the business has experienced during the COVID-19 pandemic, it is well positioned to drive future growth with a sharpened focus and a strong balance sheet.”
