CHI Memorial Foundation Recognized With Stewardship And Values Awards Wednesday, February 17, 2021
CHI Memorial Foundation was recognized for its stewardship and values. The Foundation received the Model Stewardship Award and Jennifer Nicely, CHI Memorial Foundation president, received the Philanthropy Values Award during the CommonSpirit Health’s annual Philanthropy Education Summit. The Model Stewardship Award recognizes the impact that the dollars raised make in CommonSpirit Health’s hospitals. Those funds provide new equipment, improved buildings and programs that support patients and caregivers. CHI Memorial Foundation transferred more than $3.2 million to the hospital last year – nearly 10 times greater than its transfers in the previous year. The Foundation was efficient – transferring five times the Foundation’s operating expenses. The staff also raised five and a half dollars for every dollar invested.
Healthcare Heroes Care Fund Raising Money To Support CHI Memorial Frontline Workers Tuesday, December 15, 2020
Since early 2020, the CHI Memorial medical staff has been dealing with unprecedented challenges of treating COVID-19 patients and fighting COVID-19 in the community. CHI Memorial Foundation is now asking the Chattanooga community to support the hospital’s frontline staff by giving to a special fund called the Healthcare Heroes Care Fund.
“We are implementing a program to provide tools for our staff to take care of their emotional well-being,” explains Jennifer Nicely, CHI Memorial Foundation president. “Reducing workplace stress, increasing mental toughness, and developing strategies for staff engagement are priorities that have a positive impact on the value and quality of medical care affecting patients, care providers, and ultimately the broader community’s well-being.”
