(Jed Carlson / Forum News Service) The Minnesota Housing agency announced Thursday it has approved $195 million in grants and loans to create and preserve 2,387 affordable homes across the state, including rental units and single-family houses. State Housing Commissioner Jennifer Ho said the funds will be used to build new single-family houses, fix up older housing, and help low-income Minnesotans buy their first homes and others in need pay their rent or make mortgage payments. All Minnesotans deserve access to affordable homes, Gov. Tim Walz said Thursday.
