Universities in emerging economies are improving at a faster rate than universities from developed countries, according to results from the 2021
Times Higher Education rankings.
This stellar performance is being driven by institutions from Pakistan, Russia and China, the latter accounting for an unprecedented clean sweep of the top five positions. China’s Tsinghua University topped the pile for the fourth consecutive year, for added kudos. In the most competitive Emerging Economies Universities Rankings so far, it is a testament to the success of China’s investment in its higher education sector that it becomes the first country or region to achieve the top five positions in this ranking,” said Phil Baty, chief knowledge officer at the publication.

On December 23, MBA China released the ranking “TOP100 Best MBA Programs” and “TOP10 Best Finance MBA Programs” among all Chinese business schools in 2020. The ranking is based on key indicators such as faculty, curricula (including commercial thoughts, curriculum innovation, multidisciplinary integration, discipline foresight, intellectual capital, comprehensive effectiveness, and alumni resources), student evaluation, enrollment, brand influence, etc. They are currently the most authoritative and acceptable MBA school ranking lists in China.
Among the TOP100 Best MBA programs, the School of Economics and Management at Tsinghua University ranked the first. Antai School of Economics and Management at Shanghai Jiao Tong University and Guanghua School of Management at Peking University ranked the second and third respectively. During the talks between President Mokgweetsi Masisi of Botswana and Chinaâs Foreign Minister Wang Yi in Gaborone, a co-operation agreement was signed on the âBelt and Road Initiativeâ between the two countries and China further undertook to actively assist Botswana with the industrialization and diversification of its economy.
