The holiday season can magnify the struggles of someone stressed or anxious and a mental health professional has some ideas for those among us who need support. Jessica Smiley with Heritage Behavioral Health Services says it is important to acknowledge the emotions we are experiencing and to not hide or mask them.
Several triggers can cause stress and anxiety during the holidays. Many think of the loss of a loved one or during the pandemic, being away from relatives and friends as another but Smiley adds other things can trigger stress and anxiety, especially family and financial struggles.
