A Scottsbluff man and a woman from Bayard are facing charges following an early Sunday morning pursuit that ended with the suspects bailing from a moving vehicle and one of them running through a block wall around a Scottsbluff residence.
Brandon Benavides was arrested for charges that included felony operation of a motor vehicle to avoid arrest, distribution of a controlled substance, marijuana, and misdemeanor possession of marijuana more than an ounce but less than a pound.
Court records say a Scotts Bluff County Sheriff’s Deputy recognized Benavides, who was wanted on a felony firearms warrant, in a pickup in northeastern Scottsbluff shortly before 12:45 a.m., and attempted to stop the vehicle near Highway 26 and 21st Avenue.
