The Southwest Missouri Coalition of Charities and Resources of Southwest Missouri sponsored the event and Walk The Line hosted distribution of donations of clothes, toiletries, groceries, bedding and other necessities that came in from the community.

The proverb “Necessity is the mother of invention” roughly means the primary force behind innovation is a need, and these businesses had a need. Jessica Hall, a teacher turned business owner, runs Urban Crown from the basement of her home. She uses Facebook live streams to help sell items. Christine Gaskins does the same thing for her store, Mantra Vie.

WEATHERSFIELD Jack D. Hunter, 89, passed away Sunday, Dec. 13, 2020, at his residence. Jack was born Oct. 15, 1931, in Warren, the son of John W. and Vida (Dennis) Hunter. Jack retired in 1991 from Packard Electric, as a supervisor. He had previously worked for Grinnell and Republic Steel, both in Warren, and had been a volunteer firefighter for Weathersfield Township. He had served his country in the Navy during the Korean War. Throughout his life, Jack enjoyed camping, flying airplanes and was a stock car driver. He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Shirley A. Patterson Hunter, whom he married on April 30, 1955; his daughter, Cynde Hall; grandchildren, Jessica Hall, John Hall and Joe Merwin; and great-granddaughters, Kirsten Merwin and Gia Andujar.
