Makers Off Main in Doylestown gives artists, vendors an place to create, sell

Doylestown mother Caitlin Hernandez made and sold washable coloring dolls when the pandemic hit. When sheltered-in-place orders last year shut down craft fairs and artisans markets, the mandates sliced off a big source of her income. Facing a post-COVID economy, Hernandez and several others in the local handicrafts market had to do more than pivot to survive. They had to unite. Hernandez and partner Wendy Stone cast a wide net, scouring the local area for fellow artists and crafters in the same boat. Together they snapped pictures and sold their wares from a makeshift artisans shop out of Hernandez s basement.
