Insurance Veterans Lead Confianza, Big Data Analytics Startup for Smaller Insurers January 19, 2021
Two insurance industry veterans have launched Confianza, a new data analytics company focused on smaller insurers.
One co-founder – Jeffrey Glazer – is a past chief executive officer of Activer Solutions and Insurity, and was a past CEO of Insurance Solutions at LexisNexis. He was also a vice president of Equifax and divisional officer at Hartford Insurance Group. His insurance industry experience goes back more than 35 years.
The other co-founder – John Petricelli – is a data analytics professional with 35 years of insurance industry experience in areas including managing general agency/carrier and service providers, and was a senior executive with both LexisNexis and Verisk. Confianza’s deal launch describes Petricelli as a serial entrepreneur who has started multiple companies.

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. Former New Mexico Angels President John Chavez is back doing what he does best – building a new startup that this time is focused on data analytics for the insurance industry.
Chavez, who resigned as president of the investor group last spring, joined three veteran insurance industry executives to launch Confianza Inc. in July to supply instantaneous, comprehensive information on potential customers for agents, brokers and insurance companies to make more-informed decisions on policies.
The company has proprietary software built over the last decade by one of the company’s four founders to offer a more complete set of data points through a single platform that’s faster and cheaper than other sources on the market today, Chavez said. It can help boost capacity for small- and medium-sized firms to better compete with large insurance companies.
