Homicide detectives have prepared a file on the murder of Gasparillo businessman Anand Maharaj.
Police were expected to submit it either on Thursday afternoon or Friday morning to the Office of the Director of Public Prosecution for advice.
The 23-year-old suspect remained in police custody up to late on Thursday.
The funeral of Maharaj, owner of Triple-A Auto Services Ltd at Jeffers Lane off Charles Street North, takes place on Friday at his home. His body is expected to be taken to the Shore of Peace (Mosquito Creek) site in La Romaine for cremation.
