DOVER – Dover Main Street is brightening what for many has been a dark year by sponsoring its annual ice sculpture.
Previously, the sculpture had been placed in the courtyard at Cocheco Mills. This year it s at Henry Law Park.
The group unveiled the intricate ice sculpture created by Ice Breakers of Ice Carving in Manchester on Saturday afternoon, according to Executive Board member Jeff Spires of Spires Creative Media LLC.
Having an outdoor feature to celebrate the holidays with during the COVID-19 pandemic is “incredibly important” for Dover residents, Spires said.
“It gives them a sense of community, it gives them a sense of pride for what we do as people,” he said during an interview Tuesday.
