After some uncertainty due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the 2021 Tim Hortons Brier is officially a go.
Canada s national men s curling championship begins on Friday, with 18 teams hitting the sheets in Calgary, Alta. Normally scheduled to take place with 16 teams, Curling Canada opted to expand due to COVID-19 impacting the majority of provincial/territorial championships.
Every province and territory will be represented with the majority of representatives selected without playdowns. The only ones to hold playdowns were Newfoundland and Labrador (Team Greg Smith), Northwest Territories (Team Greg Skauge), Nunavut (Team Peter Mackey) and Prince Edward Island (Team Eddie MacKenzie).
