Last week, we told you about this year’s online version of the County Reads debate. That event will be followed by the annual Authors Festival, on Friday, April 23 and Saturday, April 24. , A Good Wife: Escaping The Life I Never Chose,is based on her journey of escaping an abusive child marriage to pursue her education and shed light on gender-based oppression. She will join us Friday, April 23 at 1 p.m. Elizabeth Etue will moderate this talk.

BENNINGTON â A Readsboro man pleaded guilty on Wednesday to luring an 11-year-old girl two years ago. He is waiting to be sentenced.
The man, Gene Peterson, 63, pleaded guilty to a felony count of sexual exploitation by luring a child. The offense is punishable by up to five years in prison and/or a fine of $10,000.
At a remote hearing Wednesday, Peterson admitted approaching the girl while she was seated in her dadâs car in Readsboro in April 2019. During their three-minute conversation, Peterson solicited the girl by making various sexual suggestions, said Deputy Stateâs Attorney Alex Burke.
