ST. PAUL A man was shot and killed while driving in St. Paul Thursday night, Dec. 16.
Jeff Mintz, formerly of Rochester, called police after he d been shot. He was St. Paul s 32nd homicide victim this year.
St. Paul police said the victim died about two hours after he called 911 and reported that someone had shot him.

Mintz was apparently driving through the city when he was shot in the chest around 10 p.m. on Wednesday. After being struck, police say he pulled over and called 911 but sadly the 55-year-old eventually died from his injuries.

ST. PAUL, Minn. – The family of a man fatally shot while driving in St. Paul believes the shooting was a random act.
Fifty-five-year-old Jeff Mintz called 911 Wednesday about 10 p.m. to report that he had been shot. Mintz died about two hours later at Regions Hospital.
His son, Lee Mintz, said his dad was an attorney who stopped practicing law to start his own company, but it never took off and he began driving for Uber Eats to make ends meet.
Police say preliminary information indicated that someone in another vehicle may have shot Mintz. No arrests have been made.

The family of a 55-year-old man who died after he was shot while driving in St. Paul is reeling from his loss and believes it was a random incident.
Jeff Mintz was supposed to be out for the last time Wednesday night before quarantining as a precaution for his daughter’s small wedding in two weeks, said his son, Lee Mintz. He drove for a food delivery service, but it wasn’t known if he was working at the time.
Mintz, of St. Paul, called 911 after he was shot Wednesday about 10 p.m. while driving on Snelling Avenue near University Avenue. He died about two hours later, early Thursday, at Regions Hospital.
