Jason Dunham and his squad spotted an ambush in Karabilah, Iraq, and ran to help. Dunham, on his first posting out of Naval Submarine Base Kings Bay, used his body and helmet to cover an exploding grenade and saved his squad before dying eight days later from his injuries. On Sunday May 20, Dunham s name will race at Charlotte Motor Speedway atop the windshield of NASCAR driver Kurt Busch s No. 1 Chip Ganassi Racing Chevrolet Camaro at the Coca-Cola 600. But on Monday, Busch unveiled that 550-hp race car next to another vehicle that also bears Dunham s name the 105,000 horsepower USS Jason Dunham.

Police say a review of each incident allowed investigators to determine the four stops were carried out by a traffic enforcement officer who was on duty, dressed in uniform and operating an unmarked SUV. Insp. Jeff Dowling, officer-in-charge of RCMP Traffic Services in the southeast district, says the four complainants have been notified. The RCMP say Mounties in Midway, southeast of Penticton, are still investigating a suspected police impersonation incident on Highway 33 where the driver of a truck activated red and blue lights to pull a person over last month. Police said the person reported a six-foot-tall man approached him with a flashlight, but the victim sensed something was wrong and drove off, only to be followed by the fake police vehicle for several kilometres.

RCMP determine suspicious traffic stops were not carried out by a police impersonator BC RCMP Traffic Services have provided clarification regarding a string of suspicious incidents in the Lumby area last month. On March 21, a rare public notification was issued by the RCMP after a motorist reported that a suspected police impersonator had pulled over their vehicle. That led to an additional four reports of a similar suspected impersonator from motorists in the same area. RCMP launched a probe into the incidents and later determined each traffic stop was in fact carried out by a provincial traffic enforcement officer. According to police, the officer was on-duty, dressed in full uniform and operating a fully equipped unmarked white Chevrolet Tahoe.
