School systems are making back-to-school plans amid the pandemic, and some are setting tentative guidelines for their virtual learning programs. We ve reached out to the area school districts for information on their current plans for the upcoming school year. Below is what we ve learned so far.
Long-haul truck drivers are among the nation’s essential workers, but finding time to get the vaccine is difficult when you are traveling across the country daily to deliver critical items.
There has not been any data on how many commercial drivers have been vaccinated so far, but industry leaders have called for state and federal governments to make rest stops and travel centers vaccination sites.

Communities and businesses throughout the Southern Interior, including the Kaslo Board of Trade o/a Kaslo and Area Chamber of Commerce, are receiving new support for much needed economic recovery.
The Economic Trust of the Southern Interior (ETSI-BC) announced the successful funding recipients of the Rural Business and Community Recovery (RBCR) Program, which allowed Kaslo Board of Trade o/a Kaslo and Area Chamber of Commerce to receive funding to hire one Recovery Advisor position for a six-month term.
